SAN LUIS OBISPO — Senior Tanya Taylor and junior Lexi Kopf produced a goal and an assist each for the Anteaters in the Big West Conference game Friday.

The No. 19-ranked Anteaters (11-1-2, 3-0 in conference) scored twice in the first six minutes. UCI has won its last eight games and is undefeated in the past 11.

Kopf opened the scoring, netting her sixth goal of the season in the fourth minute off a pass from Taylor.

Taylor then scored her ninth goal of the year in the sixth minute, with an assist from senior Nikki Forrest.

Sophomore Mar Rodriguez finalized the scoring, her fifth of the season, in the 54th minute. Keeper Danielle de Seriere earned her seventh shutout of the season.

UCI outshot Cal Poly, 14-6. The Mustangs fell to 6-6-1, 1-1-1.

UCI plays at UC Santa Barbara Sunday at 1 p.m.

SANTA ANA — Katie Bergen had seven kills for the Pirates who won the Orange Empire Conference match, 25-12, 25-18, 25-14, Friday.

Liza Cheseborough had six kills and Kehaulani Vegas had 15 assists for OCC (8-1, 3-0 in conference), which plays host to Golden West Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Santa Ana dropped to 1-10, 0-3.

IRVINE — Juliane Piggott had 15 kills and 14 digs for the Anteaters in the nonconference match Friday night.

Loyola won, 29-27, 25-15, 23-25, 22-25, 15-13.

Kari Pestolesi had 12 kills and 20 digs, Alyssa Squires had 10 kills and Kristin Winkler had 21 digs, while Marissa Alvarez had 27 assists and 19 digs for UCI (5-13). Loyola improved to 10-7.

PASADENA — Hillary Phoenix scored three goals for the Pirates in the Pasadena Tournament Friday.

Brittany Daniels and Samantha Rivas had two goals each for OCC (9-6), while goalies Hannah Hogue and Kristen Peters had five and two saves, respectively. Pasadena dropped to 5-8.

COSTA MESA —Goalkeeper Nick Saire recorded 11 saves for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference match Friday.

OCC dropped to 2-6-2, 0-2-2 in conference.

IVC is 7-1-1, 3-0.

OCC returns to action on Tuesday at Golden West College at 3 p.m. before returning home to face Santa Ana on Friday at 3 p.m.
