CERRITOS — The Lightning won eight singles and eight doubles sets to cruise to the Academy League win Friday.

Liana Korber and Kimberly Brown swept at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, for Sage Hill (6-1 in league). The doubles teams of Devyn Billingsley and Lauren Hsu, a well as Rian Billingsley and Ava Soleimany, also swept for the Lightning.

Costa Mesa 11, Westminster 10 (OT)

SANTA ANA — James Lewis scored a counterattack goal in the first overtime period as the Mustangs escaped with a win Friday at the Central Orange County Tournament at Santa Ana Valley High.

Lewis had three goals for Costa Mesa (7-13), while Jamie Sacco led the team with four. Wyatt Ferris assisted Lewis’ game-winning goal and also had a game-tying goal in the fourth quarter with under 10 seconds left.
