Tandem earns All-CIF

Newport Harbor High junior setter Cinnamon Sary and Corona del Mar senior outside hitter Morgan Boukather are the two girls' volleyball players in the area receiving first-team All-CIF Southern Section honors.

Sary was recognized in Division I-AA, while Boukather made it in Division I-A.

Sary helped the Sailors place second in the ultra-competitive Sunset League and reach the quarterfinals of the Division I-AA playoffs. Sary, a first-team All-Sunset League pick, led the Sailors (22-13, 7-3 in league) with 774 assists and 120 blocks. She finished with 230 kills, 176 digs and eight service aces.

Boukather lifted the Sea Kings to their fifth straight Pacific Coast League championship and to the semifinals of the Division I-A playoffs. Boukather, who was named the Pacific Coast League MVP, led CdM (24-8, 10-0 in league) with 267 kills and finished with 90 digs and 51 service aces.

Boukather, who is bound for Stanford, is a repeat All-CIF pick.
