BUENA PARK — Tyler De la Pena (2-0) pitched a complete game with four strikeouts to help the Eagles advance to Thursday’s semifinals of the Newport Elks Tournament’s Orange County Division.

Tyler Rios went two for three, while Victor Trujillo, Brody Pearce and Andres Hernandez each went one for two with a run batted in for Estancia (3-0), which won its pool.

The Eagles will most likely play at home against a team to be determined.

Valley Christian 8, Costa Mesa 2

CERRITOS — Senior Tyler Sheffner was two for three with a double and a run batted in for the Mustangs in the pool-play game of the Newport Elks Tournament’s Orange County Division Tuesday.

Sheffner also pitched two scoreless innings in relief for Costa Mesa (1-2).

The Mustangs continue tournament play Thursday.

Corona del Mar 14, Marina 4

CORONA DEL MAR — Sea Kings senior Shane Korber earned a triple-bagel and CdM doubles teams swept nine sets in the nonleague match Tuesday at CdM.

Korber, ranked No. 29 in the Southern California 18s, beat Marina’s Parker Glore (No. 52 in the 18s), 6-0. CdM’s No. 1 doubles team of Alex Murray and Carter Wheatley won their three sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0.

The No. 2 team of Andrew Nguyen and Zach Williams, as well as the No. 3 team of Ismaen Aboubakare and Zach Haber, came back from deficits in the second round to win tiebreakers for CdM (3-0).

Corona del Mar plays at Palm Desert on Friday.

Costa Mesa 15, Loara 3

COSTA MESA — No. 1 singles player Alex Adams swept, allowing only three games, and No. 2 Justin Dang swept, dropping just one game for the Mustangs in the nonleague match Tuesday.

The No. 1 doubles team of Tam Le and Benny Quinonez also swept for Mesa (1-1).

Corona del Mar 200, Mission Viejo 201

MISSION VIEJO — Chase Wheatley shot two-over-par 38 for the Sea Kings, who were without standout Mike Moorhead (illness) in the nonleague match Tuesday at Mission Viejo Country Club.

Tanner Trauthen (39), Brian Mull (40), Ryan Grable (41) and Karick Brown (42) also scored for CdM (3-0).

San Juan Hills 187, Newport Harbor 189

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO –Marcus Kiel and Brad Tapfer both shot one-over-par 36 for the Sailors in the nonleague match Tuesday at Marbella Country Club.

Zach Eddy (37), Carter Norris (39) and Eli Gomez (41) also scored for Newport Harbor (1-3).

San Juan Hills set a school course record, Sailors Coach Scott Tarnow said.

WESTMINSTER — Cassie Stevenson had the only hit for the Eagles (0-3) in the nonleague game that went five innings Tuesday.

Kalina Urquiza, Maliah Murtha and Kelly Hinkle played well defensively, assistant coach Marcus Franco said.

CORONA DEL MAR — Gabby Smith and Molly Rovzar each scored three goals for the Sea Kings in the match Monday.

Tiffany Paladin added two goals and Torrey Attyah, Nikki Peterson and Kacie Kline also scored for CdM.
