At the end of a 2010-11 boys’ basketball season that saw him set three school career records and help guide Edison to a share of its first Sunset League championship in six years, Dylan Garrity has been named co-Most Valuable Player of the Sunset League boys’ all-league basketball team.

The senior guard shares the honor with another senior guard, Camryn Crocker of Los Alamitos, which shared the league title with the Chargers.

Garrity set a school record for career points (1,729), assists (438) and broke his own school record of games played with 114.

“Dylan was a no doubt MVP of the Sunset League,” Edison Coach Rich Boyce said. “Without him, we do not accomplish half of what we did. He should be a first-team all-county selection.”

The seven-member second team included six local players: senior guard Jordan Reise, senior guard Dirk Cason and sophomore guard Andrew Tenbrink of Huntington Beach, and senior forward/center Zach Matar, junior guard Sean Myers and senior guard Judd Chamaa of Fountain Valley.
