Quiksilver event coming to town

The Quiksilver USA Championships will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Huntington Beach Pier and from Tuesday to June 25 at Lower Trestles at San Onofre State Beach. The Huntington Beach event is for all preliminary rounds of competition for the following Adult and Longboard divisions: Men’s 18-29; Women’s 18+; Masters 30-39; Seniors 40-49; Legends 50+; Junior Longboard Under 18; Men’s Longboard 18+; Senior Longboard 40+; Girls Longboard Under 18 and Women’s Longboard 18+.

Football clinic’s next session is Sunday

The Dave White Summer Football Clinics will run its next session from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Edison High football field. Other Sunday clinics are from 1 to 3 p.m. July 10, July 17 and July 24. Each clinic is two hours and is open to youth ages 5 to 16. Participants will be taught in the areas of speed, strength, agility and conditioning. A donation of $20 per participant will be given to Edison High sports.

Jr. All-American Football registration is Saturday

Huntington Beach Jr. All American Football and Cheer will hold in-person registration at The Orange Dog Bar & Grill, 18552 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The league is open to youth ages 5 and 6 for flag football, 7 to 14 for tackle football and 4 to 14 for cheerleading. Team space is limited. Youth baseball camp starts Tuesday at Edison

The Edison High baseball coaching staff is offering a four-part camp for youth ages 6 to 13 starting Tuesday at the Edison varsity baseball field. Other dates for the camp, which runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each session, are June 23, June 28 and June 30. Instruction will be given in all skill areas of the game. The cost is $125 per camper. Baron football golf invitational is June 27

The sixth annual Baron Football “Moose Invitational” Golf Tournament is June 27 at Mile Square Golf Course in Fountain Valley. The tournament consists of a four-person scramble, longest drive contest, closest-to-the-pin contest and putting contest. The cost is $150 per player and covers green fees, cart fees, practice range, door prizes, gift bags, lunch and dinner.

The tournament benefits the Fountain Valley High football program and the Michael Musso Memorial Fund. Musso, a 2004 graduate of Fountain Valley, died in a car accident in 2005. Through the golf fundraiser, a scholarship is awarded each year to a four-year Baron football player.

Lifeletics offers travel baseball tryout, camp

Team Lifeletics Travel ball Club will hold open tryouts June 26 at the Fountain Valley High baseball field. Players in divisions 10- and 11-and-under will try out at 5 p.m. Players in divisions 12- and 14-and-under are at 6 p.m.

Registration opens 30 minutes prior to each tryout. Team Lifeletics plays out of the Lifeletics Training Facility in Huntington Beach and the travel ball program is designed to prepare athletes for high school baseball. The Lifeletics Summer Baseball weekly camp is coming to Huntington Beach June 27. Eight weeks of instruction will be offered through Aug. 15. The cost is $199 for a single week and $399 for two weeks, with a third week free of charge with the purchase of two weeks. An advanced camp will be held the final week of the summer schedule.
