Three Sea Kings get first-team accolades

Corona del Mar High juniors Gabby Smith and Torrey Attyah, along with sophomore Molly Rovzar, have been named first-team All-Pacific Coast League in girls’ lacrosse.

Smith, a midfielder and team captain, made the first team for the second straight year. She had team-bests of 43 goals and 52 ground balls for the Sea Kings (12-8), helping them finish second in league and advance to the second round of the U.S. Lacrosse Orange County Southern Section Division I playoffs. Attyah, an attacker and also a team captain, had 28 goals and led the team with 31 assists.

Rovzar, a midfielder, was second on the team in goals (30) and ground balls (30).

CdM senior midfielder Tiffany Paladin, sophomore defender Kylie Mulvaney and freshman midfielder Kacie Kline were named to the second team.

Allie Lehner of league champion Beckman was named league MVP.

Storch, Michaelsen singled out

Newport Harbor High seniors Stephanie Storch and Sierra Michaelsen were both named to the All-Sunset/Century League first team in girls’ lacrosse.

Storch scored a team-best 40 goals for the Sailors (8-13), who advanced to the U.S. Lacrosse Orange County Southern Section Division I playoffs. Michaelsen, a two-time U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American bound for Wellesley College in Massachusetts, was second on the team with 30 goals and also had a team-best 22 assists.

Senior defender Laura Cavillo and senior attacker Madeline Storch (18 goals) made the second team for Newport Harbor, which finished fourth in league.
