Aim High wins title
The Aim High Hoops Elite 13U boys’ basketball team won the AHHE Summer Smash title at Costa Mesa High last weekend.
The dominant post duo of Nissan Mo (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Anthony Beltran (11 points, eight rebounds) set the tone right away for Aim High.
In the backcourt, Aim High was led by Tyler Chacon (10 points, seven assists), Daniel French (four points, three steals) and Kevin Ray (two points, five assists) heading into the championship game.
The title game featured a dominant performance on the defensive end by Aim High to win by 23 after defeating the San Pedro Knights and Costa Mesa Eagles.
The defense had no answer for Mo, who scored 25 points to lead the team to victory.
Contributing off the bench, Jack Beeker, Gianna Guyot and Michael McCardle provided key minutes and depth throughout the weekend tournament for Aim High.
