ANAHEIM — Senior James Lewis recorded seven goals and two assists Monday to help the Mustangs improve to 3-0.

Matt Moore finished with three goals and Deighton Tachiki had two goals and three steals.

Mitchell Grandia made 19 saves and three assists.

Quinn Stone contributed one goal.

Laguna Hills Invitational

LAGUNA HILLS — Newport Harbor High junior Paige Tennison won the Division II junior race and her time of 17 minutes, 43 seconds over the three-mile course was the second-fastest overall on Saturday at Laguna Hills High.

In the sophomore race, Newport’s Leah Van Dyke was seventh in 19:13, while the Sailors’ Makena Owen was 12th in the senior race.

Sophomores Ashley Ima (15th in 19:42) and Kaitlyn Mead (16th in 19:44), and juniors Maggie Goodson (17th in 19:30) and Kathryn Maddox (26th in 19:54) also performed well in their respective races.

Berkley Van Oostendor was 24th in the sophomore race (20:23).

The Sailors return to competition in the Woodbridge Invitational on Saturday at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.
