COSTA MESA — Sophomore striker Takuma Hori scored two goals and the Pirates upset defending Orange Empire Conference champion Santa Ana on Tuesday.
Orange Coast (11-6, 7-4 in conference) has won four straight matches, which includes a win against Irvine Valley, which finished runner-up to Santa Ana (11-4-3, 8-2-1) last year.
Chase Nugent and Antonio Gonzalez recorded one goal apiece for OCC, which plays at Cypress on Friday at 3 p.m.

AZUSA — The Lions were shutout in the quarterfinals of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament on Tuesday.
Natalie Sun scored in overtime to lift the fourth-ranked Cougars (12-1-1) into the semifinals.
Gabriela Valles led Vanguard (12-5-1) with two shots on goal and goalie Lauren Terry made eight saves.

COSTA MESA — Jamie Heenan led the No. 13-ranked Lions with 17 kills, as the No. 7 Cougars won the Golden State Athletic Conference match, 32-30, 25-14, 21-25, 25-19, Tuesday.
KaUwila Lavea had 12 kills and Jessica Neves added 10 kills for Vanguard (20-10, 9-6 in conference).
