COSTA MESA — Ilene Umansky scored nine goals for the Eagles in the nonleague game Tuesday.

Goalie Alexis Paul made 21 saves for Estancia (4-5), which plays host to Bolsa Grande Wednesday.


Newport Harbor 13, Long Beach Wilson 6

NEWPORT BEACH — Carolyn Smith and Maddy McLaren scored three goals each for the Sailors in the nonleague game Tuesday.

Goalie Cleo Harrington made nine saves to lead a strong Newport defense.

The Sailors (3-0) play host to Corona del Mar in the Battle of the Bay Friday at 4:15 p.m.



Estancia 2, Cypress 1

COSTA MESA — Junior Marlene Calderon scored the game-winner with six minutes left in the nonleague game Tuesday.

Calderon headed in the ball off a corner kick from freshman Alba Barrios.

Freshman Sarah Leahy also scored for Estancia (3-4-1), which plays host to Newport Harbor Thursday at 4:45 p.m. at Jim Scott Stadium.



Corona del Mar 59, Torrance 52

WESTMINSTER — Senior Jake McCloskey scored 22 points to lead CdM in its first-round game of the Westminster tournament Tuesday.

Senior Joey Calise added 14 points for CdM (3-3), which plays against Culver City Thursday at 6 p.m.


Venice 57, Newport Harbor 56

PALOS VERDES ESTATES — Chance Beauchamp scored 19 points to lead the Sailors in a pool-play game of the Palos Verdes tournament Tuesday.

Newport Harbor had (4-3) two opportunities to win toward the end of the game, but missed both shots.

The Sailors play against Lawndale in pool play Wednesday.



Newport Harbor 45, Segerstrom 26

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior captains Jesus Diaz and Ben Nordstrom earned wins to highlight the Sailors' nonleague victory Tuesday.

Diaz won, 8-6 at 132 pounds. Nordstrom won, 7-3, at 160 pounds. 170-pound senior Brandon Hayden clinched the team victory with a pin in 3:11.

Junior Alberto Ramirez, at 120 pounds, rallied for a 5-1 deficit to score a win by pin in 3:21.

Newport Harbor will play host to a tri-meet with Corona del Mar and Estancia Thursday. The Sailors' match against the rival Sea Kings will be for the Golden Singlet.



Corona del Mar 43, Tesoro 39

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Karlèh Wilson scored 12 points to lead CdM in its first-round game of the Ocean View tournament Tuesday.

Katie Scott had eight points with two three-pointers and three steals for CdM (5-2), which plays Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.


Newport Harbor 42, Blair 30

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Kasey Thompson had 11 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks to pace the Sailors in the first round of the 16-team Ocean View Tournament on Monday.

Jennifer Lopez had 11 rebounds and nine points and Cierra Haas added four points for the Tars (3-3), who play Dominguez in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 7 p.m.



El Toro 6, Newport Harbor 4

MISSION VIEJO — Senior Brice Manning scored twice for the Sailors in the Irvine Tournament Silver division championship game at Capistrano Valley High on Monday.

Christian Ochoa had one goal and one assist for Newport Harbor (3-2-2).
