NEWPORT COAST — Freshman outside hitter Jack Burgi had six kills and no errors and two service aces in the Lightning’s 25-14, 25-9, 25-14 nonleague match on Tuesday.

Creagan Lydon finished with six kills for Sage Hill (10-9), ranked No. 10 in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 poll.

The Lightning open Academy League play at home Wednesday against Brethren Christian at 5 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Estancia senior Jake Knapp was medalist with a one-under-par 35 in the Orange Coast League match Tuesday at Mesa Verde Country Club.

Courtland Lee and Davin Ortiz each shot 39, and Aaron Wood and Jake Stone each carded a 40 for Estancia (8-1, 3-0 in league).

IRVINE — John Davenport and Chase Wheatley shot par 35 to share medalist honors for the visiting Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Tuesday at Oak Creek Golf Club.

Mike Moorhead and Hale Furey both shot 37 and Karick Brown shot 39 for the Sea Kings (10-0, 2-0 in league).

IRVINE — The Lightning’s Ahmed Eltamami was the medalist for the seventh time in as many starts after shooting a two-over-par 38 in the nonleague match Tuesday at Strawberry Farms Golf Course.

Sage is 6-2.

COSTA MESA — Matt Jarmacz went two for three with one run batted in, two runs scored and two stolen bases for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Tuesday.

Ben Beck (two for two with two runs), Levi Stillman (one for four, with two RBIs, two runs, one stolen base), Tyler Rios (one for four with two RBIs, one double, one run, one stolen base) and Jackson Letterman (one for two with three RBIs, one run) also contributed for Estancia (7-1, 2-0 in league).

IRVINE — Junior Max Strohman went two for three with four runs batted in and picked up the save for the Lightning in the Academy League game Tuesday.

Crean Lutheran entered ranked No. 3 in CIF Southern Section Division 6.

Freshman Parker Reposa earned the win with five strikeouts. He allowed one run in five innings for Sage (3-3-1, 2-0 in league).

Northwood 6, Corona del Mar 5

IRVINE — The Sea Kings saw their 5-3 lead slip away in the final inning of the Pacific Coast League game Tuesday.

Northwood drew three straight walks on two outs to rally for the win. The Timberwolves had loaded the bases, which included a walk and an error.

CdM (6-3, 1-1 in league) trailed, 3-2, through six innings, but Brent Lawson hit a three-run home run for the lead in the top of the seventh. Nick Roco went two for three for the Sea Kings.

SANTA ANA — Trace Curet went two for four for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League game Tuesday.

Kory Bennion went two for five for Costa Mesa.

SANTA ANA — Robert Marrone swept at No. 1 singles for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League match Tuesday.

Matt Thomas and Erik Cerros swept at No. 1 doubles, while Sterling Gates and Charlie Griffen swept at No. 3 doubles for Estancia (8-2, 2-1 in league), ranked No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division 4.

IRVINE — The Sea Kings swept in doubles in the Pacific Coast League opener Tuesday.

Seniors Alex Murray and Zach Williams improved to 20-1 at No. doubles, while Paul Kacik and Andrew Nguyen improved to 15-2 at No. 3 doubles for CdM (7-1), ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 1. Northwood is ranked No. 8.
