COSTA MESA — Junior Chase Wheatley shot three-under-par 34 to earn medalist honors in a Pacific Coast League match on the Los Lagos Course at Costa Mesa Country Club Tuesday, helping the Sea Kings improve to 13-0, their best start in the program’s history.

Wheatley collected four birdies.

The Sea Kings shot two-over-par 187 as a team and improved to 4-0 in league.

Mike Moorhead had a 35, followed by Hale Furey (38), John Davenport (39) ad Karick Brown (41).

COSTA MESA — Jake Knapp shot four-under-par 32 to earn medalist honors for Estancia in the Orange Coast League match at Mesa Verde Country Club Tuesday.

Jake Stone (36), Courtland Lee (43), Davin Ortiz (43) and Aaron Wood (46) also scored for Estancia (9-2, 4-0 in league).

HUNTINGTON BEACH — The visiting Sailors had four players shoot three-over-par or better and still lost the Sunset League match at Meadowlark Golf Course on Tuesday.

Brad Tapfer (36), Danny Willett (36), Mason Moody (38) and Carter Norris (38) stood out for the Tars (5-5, 1-1.

Marina is 9-2, 2-0.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Darren Chen was the top scorer for the visiting Lightning in the Academy League match Monday at San Juan Hills Country Club.

Chen shot six-over-par 42. Ahmed Eltamami (44) and Tanner Tremaine (45) also contributed for the Lightning (7-2, 2-1 in league).

The Tartans are 7-3, 6-0.

IRVINE — The Sea Kings opened with a six-run first inning with their first six hitters scoring in the Pacific Coast League game Tuesday.

Max Stone belted a three-run double in the first inning. Aaron White, Hunter Heckendorn and Cort Hastings drove in one run each. Andrew McCormack drove in a run in the seventh.

Billy Macdonald improved to 2-1 after pitching 51/3 innings, while Brett Olson picked up the save for CdM (8-3, 3-1 in league).

NEWPORT COAST — Parker Reposa pitched four shutout innings and recorded five strikeouts for the Lightning in the Academy League game Tuesday.

Adam Ellingson earned the save for Sage Hill (3-1 in league).

COSTA MESA — Junior Robert Marrone won 18 of 19 games at No. 1 singles to pace the visiting Eagles in the Orange Coast League match Tuesday.

Junior Joseph Kidane also swept at No. 3 singles for Estancia (9-3, 3-1 in league).

Tom Le and Max Nguyen swept at No. 1 doubles for the Mustangs (2-2 in league).

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Freshman Reese Stalder won all 18 games at No. 1 singles to pace the visiting Sailors in the Sunset League match Tuesday.

Senior Chase Rados swept at No. 3 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Sean Perrier and Garrett Byers won its first two sets before being subbed out for the Tars (5-3, 2-0 in league).

NEWPORT BEACH — The Lightning No. 1 doubles team of Alex Manolakas and Eric Magliarditi swept in the Academy League match Tuesday at The Tennis Club Newport Beach.

Whitney won seven of nine in singles. Sage Hill (3-6, 2-1 in league) won seven of nine in doubles.

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Kevin Rakestraw had 18 kills to help the Sailors to a 19-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-16 Sunset League win Tuesday.

Clay Carr had 11 kills, Connor Leggett had seven kills and Max Richley had 12 digs for Newport Harbor (12-5, 2-0 in league).

IRVINE — Parker Brown had 10 kills, three digs, two aces to help the Sea Kings to a 25-6, 25-14, 25-19 Pacific Coast League win Tuesday.

Jack Reed had seven kills, Billy Martino added five kills and Remy Lamons finished with four kills for CdM (12-4, 2-0 in league).

IRVINE — Kent Kawaguchi had 44 assists and eight kills for the Lightning in the Academy League match Tuesday.

Crean won 22-25, 25-19, 16-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Chris Zadra had 18 kills and three aces for Sage Hill (12-10, 2-1 in league).

SANTA ANA — Senior outside hitter Dylan Gaitan had 17 kills to lead the visiting Eagles in the Orange Coast League match Tuesday.

NEWPORT COAST — Ford Hanour had six goals and Lucas Ellison added three for the host Lightning on Monday.

Double-dual meet

Corona del Mar 88, Loyola 82

Capistrano Valley 89, Corona del Mar 81

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Senior Jared Namba won two events for the Sea Kings in the meet Tuesday at Capistrano Valley High.

Namba won the 200-yard individual medley in 1 minute, 53.62 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 51.48. The CIF Southern Section Division 1 automatic times are the fastest in Orange County this season.

Christian Garkani won tje 200 freestyle (1:42.12) and Blake Motal captured the 100 free (48.84) for CdM. The Sea Kings also won the 200 medley relay as Namba, Tyler Lin, Justin Hanson and Motal touched in 1:35.67, another Orange County best. Ari Marks, Liam Karas, Motal and Garkani teamed to win the 200 free relay in 1:26.24.

The meet matched the top three CIF Division 1 teams from last year; Loyola is defending champion.

GARDEN GROVE — Hayden Swift won the 100-yard freestyle in 55.92 seconds to lead the visiting Eagles in the nonleague meet Monday.
