COSTA MESA — The Mustangs won every event in the Orange Coast League meet Wednesday at Costa Mesa High.

Sophomore Tyler Connors bettered his CIF Southern Section Division 3 qualifying time in the 200-yard individual medley, winning in 2:12.93. Junior Quinn Stone earned a consideration time in the 100 free (53.33 seconds).

Senior James Lewis won the 200 free (1:55.62) and 500 free (5:15.96) for Costa Mesa, which improved to 4-0 in league. The Mustangs play host to Cypress on Friday.

GIRLS’ SWIM

Costa Mesa 100, Estancia 67

COSTA MESA — Kellie Thorsness and Aubry Hill won two events each to help keep the Mustangs undefeated in the Orange Coast League at 4-0 Wednesday at Costa Mesa High.

Thorsness won the 50-yard freestyle (25.23) and 100 free (57.26), while Hill won the 200 individual medley (2:35.48) and 100 butterfly (1:12.23).

Corona del Mar 182, Villa Park 191

NEWPORT BEACH — Mike Moorhead shot even-par 35 for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Wednesday at Newport Beach Country Club.

Chase Wheatley (36), Karick Brown (36), Brian Mull (37) and John Davenport (38) also scored for CdM (18-0, 8-0 in league), which plays against Woodbridge Thursday at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course in Irvine.

Huntington Beach 190, Newport Harbor 198

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Carter Norris shot one-over-par 37 for the Sailors in the Sunset League match Wednesday at SeaCliff Country Club.

Nathan Moody (39), Brad Tapfer (40), Max Meisenheimer (40) and Danny Willett (42) also scored for Newport Harbor (10-7, 3-3 in league).

Sailors Coach Scott Tarnow said the Oilers improved 17 strokes from shooting 207 on the same course the day before.

LAGUNA BEACH — Nelson Negrillo and Chris Pawinski both shot five-over-par 37 for the Mustangs in the Orange Coast League match Wednesday at Aliso Creek Inn Golf Club.

Costa Mesa is 3-8, 0-6 in league.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Jake Knapp was medalist with a four-under-par 32 in the Orange Coast League match Wednesday at Mile Square Golf Course.

Aaron Wood (37), Courtland Lee (38), Jake Stone (38) and Bill Crosson (42) also scored for Estancia (13-4, 7-0 in league).

The Eagles play rival Costa Mesa at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mesa Linda.

BOYS’ LACROSSE

Corona del Mar 16, Woodbridge 4

IRVINE — Senior Michael Keasey had four goals and one assist for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Wednesday.

Senior Hunter Molnar (three goals), junior Jack Ortlieb (three goals), senior Aaron Khosh (two goals), junior Casey Mix (one goal, five assists), junior Chase McElroy (one goal), senior Connor Canale (one goal), sophomore Jay Damon (one goal) and junior Chris Von Der Ahe (two assists) contributed for CdM (16-0, 8-0 in league).

Senior Taylor Epp (one assist), seven of 10 face-offs and had six groundballs, senior goalie Michael Ortlieb had two saves and senior Nolan Johnson had one save. Freshman Hugh Crance, senior Eric Fisher and senior Matt English stood out on defense for the Sea Kings.

Newport Harbor 10, Huntington Beach 6

NEWPORT BEACH — Riley Robinson had three goals and four assists to help the Sailors win the Sunset League game Wednesday.

Newport Harbor (9-6, 3-1 in league) moved into a tie for first place in league with Los Alamitos. The Sailors play against the Griffins (3-1 in league) in the final two games of the regular season.

Alex Opyd (three goals) and Ritter Hagadorn (two goals, one assist) also contributed, while Matt Porteous and Kole Escher scored one goal each. Jack Murrel, Brian Team and Luke Toohey had one assist each. Goalie Zac Vayda made 14 saves.

Andrew Wilson (five takeaways, four knockdowns, two groundballs), Riley Peterson (four groundballs, won seven of nine face-offs), Murrel (three groundballs, two knockdowns), Brandon Rausch (four groundballs) and Porteous (four groundballs) stood out on defense.

Newport Harbor plays at Los Alamitos on Saturday.

Corona del Mar 18, Woodbridge 4

CORONA DEL MAR — Kacie Kline had four goals, one assist and one takeaway for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Wednesday.

CdM Coach Aly Vislocky said Kendall Mulvaney stood out and was awarded the game ball because of her outstanding defense, as well as one assist and two groundballs.

Goalie Sarah Hostetler had five saves in first half and Brooke Van Hensenbergen had three saves in the second half for the Sea Kings (12-2, 8-0 in league).

BOYS’ TENNIS

Corona del Mar 17, Beckman 1

CORONA DEL MAR — Freshman Chaz Downing won 6-3, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles as part of the Sea Kings’ sweep in singles in the Pacific Coast League match Wednesday.

In doubles, Andrew Nguyen swept at love. He played two sets with Paul Kacik and one set with Samee Aboubakare for CdM (15-2, 6-1 in league), which plays host to Woodbridge Thursday at 3 p.m.
