CORONA DEL MAR — Parker Brown had 18 kills, four digs and three aces to help the Sea Kings to a 25-8, 25-12, 25-14 Pacific Coast League win Friday.

Joey Martino had six kills, James Christian had four kills and three blocks, and Joe Ctvrtlik had 33 assists for CdM (18-5, 7-0 in league), ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 coaches’ poll.

The Sea Kings play host to Loyola Saturday at 2 p.m. Loyola, which entered the week undefeated at 19-0, is ranked No. 1 in the nation by ESPN Powerade Fab 50 and No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

CdM is ranked No. 23 in the nation.

“I’m fired up we get to play a team like this,” CdM Coach Steve Conti said.

NEWPORT BEACH — Kevin Rakestraw had 13 kills to help the Sailors to a 25-15, 27-25, 25-16 Sunset League win Friday.

Peirce Ward (nine kills), Steven Duhoe (nine kills), Max Richley (16 digs), Nic Sargeant (nine digs) and Connor Leggett (30 assists) also contributed for Newport Harbor (19-7, 6-1 in league), ranked No. 10 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.

The Sailors are ranked No. 22 in the nation by ESPN Powerade Fab 50.

Laguna Beach 1, Estancia 0

LAGUNA BEACH — Senior Andres Hernandez pitched a complete game, giving up six hits and two walks, while striking out four in the Eagles’ Orange Coast League game on Friday.

Hernandez went two for three, and Alex Trancoso and Brodie Pearce each had a hit for Estancia (12-7, 6-3 in league).

The Eagles on Saturday at 11 a.m. will make up a Beach Pit Classic game against Calabasas that was rained out last week.

Northwood 8, Corona del Mar 6

IRVINE — Andrew McCormack went three for four with three runs batted in for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Friday.

Aaron White had two RBIs for CdM (12-7, 5-4 in league), which plays at Irvine on Tuesday.

Corona del Mar 19, St. Margaret’s 5

CORONA DEL MAR — Gabby Smith scored five goals for the Sea Kings in the nonleague game Friday.

Kylie Mulvaney had three draw controls and one groundball, Ally Brahs caused three turnovers and had two groundballs and goalie Sarah Hostetler made nine saves against 14 shots on goal for CdM (13-2).
