Keasey named MVP

Corona del Mar High senior midfielder Michael Keasey was named the Pacific Coast League MVP in boys’ lacrosse after helping the Sea Kings claim their fifth straight undefeated league championship, their first U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section South Division and Southern Section titles and first undefeated season in the program’s history.

Keasey is also the fifth straight CdM player to earn the league’s top award.

Keasey is joined on the first team by senior goalie Michael Ortlieb, junior attacker Jack Ortlieb, junior attacker Casey Mix and senior attacker Hunter Molnar. The five led CdM to a 24-0 record.

The Yale-bound Keasey, who earned All-American honors from the Orange County Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse and the Orange County Player of the Year award, recorded 54 goals and 33 assists.

Michael Ortlieb, bound for Holy Cross, made 179 saves.

Jack Ortlieb had 56 goals and 25 assists.

Both the Ortlieb brothers earned All-American and first-team All-Orange County honors.

Mix totaled 44 goals and 36 assists.

Keasey, the Ortliebs and Mix are repeat first-team picks.

Making the second-team all-league from CdM were senior midfielder and face-off specialist Taylor Epp, and senior defenders Connor Cruse, Erik Fisher and Matt English.
