Breakdown: Sage Hill will be without sophomore QB CJ McCord, who broke his left (non-throwing) arm last week and is out for at least three weeks, Coach JR Tolver said. Harrison Ray will be the QB. Lucas Ellison (OL/DL) separated his left shoulder. He is out at least five weeks, yet might be out for the year, Tolver said ... The Lightning (0-2), in their 11th season, will try to avoid their first 0-3 start in their history ... Sage Hill leads the series, 5-2, winning five straight, yet the teams have not met since 2008 ... The Lightning are 0-2 for the first time since 2003, their second season, when they went 1-8, the worst record in the program’s history ... CVC improved to 2-0 with a 35-21 win over Rock Academy of San Diego last week.
