COSTA MESA — Kayla Arenas scored three goals for the Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Saturday.

Jordan Davidson had two goals and one assist, while Ashley McCutcheon and Lindsey Kelly-Holman (one assist) added single goals for Vanguard (12-2, 8-0 in conference).

Rachel Rucireta had two assists for the Lions.

Cal State Northridge 2, UC Irvine 1

IRVINE — Tarek Morad scored for the Anteaters in the Big West Conference match Saturday night.

Morad’s goal was on a penalty kick that tied the game, 1-1, in the 60th minute.

Cal State Northridge (11-5-0, 5-2-0 in conference) scored the game-winner in the 80th minute.

Goalie Michael Breslin made three saves for UCI (4-11-1, 1-6-0).

Vanguard def. Hope International

FULLERTON — Rachael Barker had 11 kills to help lead the No. 23-ranked Lions to a 25-18, 10-25, 25-20, 25-15 Golden State Athletic Conference win Saturday night.

Kelly Heenan had 17 digs and Jessica Neves had 11 digs for Vanguard (15-9, 5-3 in conference).

Hope International is 3-15, 1-7.

Long Beach State def. UC Irvine

IRVINE — Marisa Bubica led all players with 17 kills for the Anteaters, but the 49ers won, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23, in the Big West Conference match Saturday at Crawford Court.

Taylor Smith had 11 kills for UCI (9-14, 4-5 Big West) and Kristin Winkler had a match-high 26 digs. Shannon Fleming had four block assists, Marissa Alvarez handed out 39 assists to go along with five digs and two block assists and Hannah Nabbout had 12 digs for the Anteaters.

Long Beach State is 11-9, 6-3.
