Boys' Water Polo: Ferris, Stone, Nakhjavani, Rydjeski on All-OCL first team

Costa Mesa High seniors Wyatt Ferris and Quinn Stone, as well as sophomore goalie James Rydjeski and Sage Hill junior Arya Nakhjavani, have been named first-team All-Orange Coast League for boys' water polo.

Costa Mesa sophomores Nick Lewis and Deighton Tachiki-Urias, as well as Estancia senior goalie Garet Henscheid, earned second-team honors.

Ferris had a team-high 117 goals for Costa Mesa, also leading the team with 54 steals and adding 26 assists. Ferris' 117 goals, tops in the league, placed him fifth among all Costa Mesa players in program history in single-season scoring.

Stone had 48 goals, 34 assists and 19 steals for Mesa. Rydjeski, a team captain, finished with 300 saves, fifth on the Mustangs' all-time single-season list.

The trio helped the Mustangs finish 21-7 and second place in league, their best finish since 2008. They advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs.

Nakhjavani scored a team-best 86 goals for the Lightning, who finished 1-4 in league.
