NEWPORT BEACH — Newport Harbor won all of its competitions Friday in the four-team, two-day tournament at The Tennis Club Newport Beach.

Each dual match consists of five singles and four doubles sets in the 10th annual invitational that has a round-robin format.

The Sailors have a big lead.

In doubles, Newport Harbor defeated Sage Hill 2, 4-0; Sage Hill 1, 4-0; and Tesoro, 3-1.

In singles, Newport Harbor defeated Oaks Christian 4-1.

Tesoro defeated Sage Hill 2, 5-0 in singles and Sage Hill 1, 3-1 in doubles.

Oaks Christian defeated Sage Hill 1, 5-0 in singles, Sage Hill 2, 4-1 in singles.

Saturday's play begins at 11 a.m. at The Tennis Club on Saturday.

LOS ANGELES — The Cubs swept the Sea Kings in their season opener, 25-13, 25-19, 25-22, Friday night.

Tommy Brooks had six kills and Andrew Deverian had three aces for CdM (1-0), which will next play in the Best of the West in Poway next weekend.
