CORONA DEL MAR — Sophomore Chaz Downing junior Josh Kliger, playing No. 1 doubles, led the Sea Kings in a nonleague match at home on Tuesday.

Alec Adamson, the team's No. 1 singles player, remained undefeated.

CdM (5-0), ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 poll, plays host to No. 3 Los Alamitos on Wednesday at 3 p.m.


Estancia 13, Costa Mesa 5

COSTA MESA — The Eagles' No. 2 doubles team of Charlie Griffen and David Doran led the way in an Orange Coast League opener at Estancia on Tuesday.

Griffen and Doran, both sophomores, won, 6-2, 6-1, 6-0.

Costa Mesa's top singles player, Max Nguyen, won his three sets, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2.

Estancia (8-1 overall) plays at Edison on Wednesday at Edison at 3 p.m.


Newport Harbor 11, Tesoro 7

NEWPORT BEACH — Reese Stalder swept at No. 1 singles for the Sailors in the nonleague match Monday.

Christian Lee swept at No. 2 singles for Newport Harbor (6-3), which plays host to Woodbridge on Wednesday.



Loara 218, Costa Mesa 257

ANAHEIM — Junior Sushil Bhakta shot a 10-over-par 45 in the Mustangs' nonleague match at Dad Miller Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Mustangs (1-4) face Tustin at Tustin Ranch Golf Club on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.



University def. Estancia

COSTA MESA — The Eagles fell to 0-4 after the Trojans won the nonleague match, 25-11, 25-17, 26-24, Tuesday.

Dalton O'Daly and Jeremy Lawrence had six kills each for Estancia, which plays host to Bolsa Grande on Wednesday.


Woodbridge def. Sage Hill

IRVINE — Senior Kent Kawaguchi, a setter and outside hitter, recorded 15 digs, nine kills, five blocks and two service aces for the Lightning in a nonleague match Woodbridge won, 25-18, 21-25, 28-26, 25-14, on Tuesday.

Kyle Jaffe contributed 15 digs and Nicky Boulos had 16 digs for Sage Hill (0-3).

The Lightning compete in the Orange County Championship tournament on Friday at Edison High.
