Hawaii 12, UC Irvine 11 (sudden-death OT)

IRVINE — Emily Carr scored for Hawaii with 32 seconds left in the first sudden-death overtime period, ending the wild Big West Conference match Thursday night at UCI.

Hannah Croghan scored a match-high four goals for No. 6 UC Irvine (13-7, 1-1 in conference). Kelsey Klatt and Michaela Pierandozza added two goals each for the Anteaters, who lost for the first time in its last 15 Big West matches.

The No. 9 Rainbow Wahine improved to 8-5, 1-0 in conference.

UCI returns to action at UC Davis on March 29.

Orange Coast 15, Irvine Valley 7

IRVINE — Cody Bruder went three for four with four runs and a run batted in for the Pirate in the Orange Empire Conference game Thursday.

Greg Espinosa (three for five, two RBIs, one run), Zach Nehrir (two for five, two runs, one RBI), Ricky Navarro (two for seven, two RBIs), Manny Argomaniz (two for five, two runs, one RBI), Austin Saenz (two for four, two runs) and Danny Jimenez (two for five, one RBI) also contributed for OCC (16-6, 4-3 in conference), whic had 19 hits.

IVC is 7-12, 2-5.

CYPRESS — Chad Meyer won at No. 3 singles, 6-0 6-0, for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference match Thursday.

Chris Chiu won at No. 2 singles, 6-2 6-2, for OCC (6-7, 3-3 in conference).
