NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Taylor Parks returned to the mound and helped Newport Harbor open the tournament with a victory at home on Saturday.

The Sailors (7-5) scored all of their six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Newport Harbor resumes tournament play at home Wednesday against Laguna Hills at 3:15 p.m.

COSTA MESA — Senior Tyler Rios picked up his first victory of the season after throwing a complete game for the Eagles in their tournament opener on Saturday.

Rios allowed three runs, seven hits, struck out three and walked two.

Eric Molina went two for three with three runs batted in for Estancia (8-4).

Steven Macis went two for four with an RBI and double.

The Eagles play host to Greeley of Colorado in their next tournament game on Monday at a 3 p.m.
