Youth Soccer: Unbeaten Galaxy earns title
The Galaxy youth soccer team won the 2013 Corona del Mar AYSO Region 57 boys’ 12-and-under division championship last week, winning, 3-1, finishing an unbeaten region season with a record of 13-0-1, and outscoring opponents, 37-5.
The Galaxy are coached by Mike Plumb and his assistant Gary Vaughan.
The team consists of Michael Vaughan, Jason Plumb, Luke Joyce, Carter Duss, Christian Lopez, Kai Coop, Cole Dearmin, AJ Plumb, Tyler Whitehead, AJ Luesebrink, George Gemayel, Nicholas Stauffer and Sam Johnson.
The Galaxy move on to the Area Q League playoffs Dec. 7.
Coach Alex Darrough’s team, the “Moneymakers,” finished second, and also move on to the Area Q tournament representing Corona del Mar.
