Briefs: Rough going for U.S.

USA Water Polo Men’s Senior National Team posted an 0-3 record at the Volo Cup which concluded Sunday at Szolnok, Hungary. Team USA dropped games to Serbia, Germany and Hungary in a tournament that started Friday .

In Sunday’s game against Hungary, Bret Bonanni (Mater Dei/Stanford) of Huntington Beach netted a Team USA-high three goals in a 12-5 loss to the host team. Bonanni also scored a team-high four goals Saturday in a 20-12 loss to Germany, and tied for team scoring honors with three goals in Team USA’s tournament-opening 20-11 loss Friday to Serbia.

Swim sessions available

A swim program for youth eighth-grade-and-under run by Edison water polo and swim coach Diggy Riley is being offered at Edison High.

Daily swim sessions will run from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday through March 6.
