Briefs: Special fundraiser

The Laguna Beach High Baseball Boosters will host a Rocking Spring Fundraiser Sunday at historic Sandpiper (1183 South Pacific Coast Highway) in Laguna Beach.

The event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and offers live music by the Blues Offenders, delicious food by Wood Ranch Barbecue, and an exciting silent auction. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased at the door.

The full proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Laguna Beach High baseball program.

AVP schedule

The Assn. of Volleyball Professionals has announced its 2014 tour schedule.

The seven-tournament tour starts in May and runs through September culminating with the AVP Championships at the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier Sept. 25-28.

Tournament dates: May 29-June 1:St. Pete Open (St. Petersburg, FLA.); July 3-6, Milwaukee Open (Milwaukee, WI.); Aug. 7-10, Salt Lake City Open (Salt Lake City, Utah); Aug. 15-17, Manhattan Beach Open; Aug. 28- 31, Cincinnati Open(Mason, Ohio); Sept. 5-7, DO AC Pro Beach Volleyball Invitational (Atlantic City, N.J.); Sept. 25-28: AVP Championships (Huntington Beach Pier).
