Mika Community Development Corp., a Costa Mesa-based nonprofit, presented its C3 basketball tournament and community fair Saturday.

The free event at the Downtown Recreation Center on Anaheim Avenue featured Costa Mesa police playing alongside community members in a tradition that started 12 years ago on Shalimar Drive as a way to build better relations between police and the community. It also included art, raffles and other activities.

C3 stands for “cops, church and community.”
