One person was taken to a hospital after a fire broke out Sunday night in a two-story apartment building in Huntington Beach.

The Huntington Beach Fire Department responded at 8:40 p.m. to a report of a blaze in the 7000 block of Alhambra Drive. An upper-level apartment was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, department spokesman Eric McCoy said.

An adult resident suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital, McCoy said.

No other units were affected, and no one else was evacuated, he said.

The Orange County Fire Authority and Fountain Valley Fire Department assisted on the call, and the fire was knocked down in nine minutes, the Huntington Fire Department said.
