Woman, 46, dies after being hit by minivan in Huntington Beach

A 46-year-old woman who was struck by a minivan Tuesday night in Huntington Beach has died, police said.

Huntington Beach police responded at 8:38 p.m. to Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Street after receiving a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The woman, a Huntington Beach resident, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she died of her injuries, police said. Her identity was not released.

Investigators said a 2006 Toyota Sienna was traveling west on Pacific Coast Highway when it struck the woman as she was walking north in the intersection at Newland Street.

The van’s driver, an 81-year-old Seal Beach man, remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No arrests have been made, police said.
