4 men hospitalized after being found unconscious at Newport bar
Four men were hospitalized early Friday after they were found unconscious at a Balboa Peninsula bar.
Newport Beach paramedics and police responded around 1 a.m. to American Junkie, a bar near Newport Harbor at 2406 Newport Blvd., said Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeff Boyles.
When authorities arrived, they found four unconscious men inside the bar. Paramedics provided life-support measures and took all four to local hospitals, Boyles said.
Authorities suspect the men had ingested some type of substance, but the incident is still under investigation, Boyles said.
