High School Roundup: Paoletti shines in CdM win

Tommy Paoletti pitched a complete-game, four-hitter with two strikeouts and two walks for the Sea Kings in the Beach Pit Classic game on Tuesday at CdM.
J.T. Schwartz (two for two, run batted in), Jordan Hauser (one for three, RBI), Nick Premer (two for three, RBI) and Robby Hurst (one for two, RBI) also contributed for CdM (11-2).
The Sea Kings play host to South Torrance Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Beach Pit Classic includes 14 teams. Each team plays four games.

Estancia 5, Canyon of Canyon Country 2
Connor Brown improved to 5-0 after pitching six innings, giving up one earned run on two hits and striking out seven for the Eagles in the Beach Pit Classic game on Tuesday.
Jeff Alai (one for two, two runs scored), Joe Stukkie (one for one, run), Trevor Brown (two for two, RBI) and Tyler Ross (one for three, two RBIs) also contributed for Estancia (11-5) , which is 2-1 in the Beach Pit Classic.
The Eagles play host to Western Wednesday at 3 p.m. to complete the Beach Pit Classic.

Cade Seabold was two for four with an RBI for the Sailors in the Sunset League game on Tuesday.
John Olmstead had two doubles and Josh Spicer had one double for the Sailors (1-4 in league), who left the bases loaded in the final inning.
Luke Genova allowed five hits in six innings as pitcher for Newport Harbor.

Sage Hill 8, Brethren Christian 0
Brett Super struck out 10 and allowed just two hits and one walk in six innings for the Lightning in the Academy League game on Tuesday.
Super also hit a home run. Cole Tait added three RBIs and Eddie Pelc was two for three with two stolen bases.

Grady Conner had two hits and one RBI for the Mustangs in the nonleague game on Tuesday.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE
Corona del Mar 14, University 4
IRVINE — Five different players each scored two goals for the Sea Kings in Monday’s Pacific Coast League game on the road.
Kennedy Mulvaney, Courtney Johnston, Emily Cannon, Kennedy McGuinness, Paige Nelson and Ellery Amdor all scored twice for CdM (7-1, 4-0 in league). Mulvaney also had a team-best seven draw controls.
Amdor, Lauren Rowe and Katherine Mulvaney each had two ground balls. Ashley Olson made nine saves for CdM, which is ranked No. 6 in Southern California by laxpower.com and has won seven straight games.
The Sea Kings play host to Irvine on April 11.

Huntington Beach 11, Newport Harbor 7
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Sam Leaman and Mark Schaefer swept at No. 3 doubles for the Sailors in the Sunset League match on Tuesday.
David Lee and Cory Smith swept No. 2 doubles for Newport Harbor (5-7, 0-2 in league).
The Sailors play host to Los Alamitos on Thursday.

Sage Hill def. Whitney
Parker Walden had 15 kills to lead the Lightning to a 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 22-25, 15-10 Academy League win on Tuesday.
Albert Son added 10 kills and Louis Rhee had nine kills for Sage Hill (2-8, 2-3 in league).
