Ritner is Pacific Coast League MVP

Corona del Mar High senior goalie Heidi Ritner has earned Pacific Coast League MVP honors for girls’ water polo.

Ritner, bound for the University of Michigan, is joined on the first-team all-league by CdM senior Bridgett Storm, junior Jaleh Moaddeli and sophomore Chloe Harbilas.

Ritner is a three-time first-team all-league selection. This year she made 231 saves for the Sea Kings, helping the team finish 20-8, 10-0 in league for another undefeated league title. CdM advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs before falling against No. 3-seeded Santa Barbara San Marcos, 8-5, at Santa Barbara High.

Storm, a center headed to UCLA, also is a repeat first-team all-league selection. She was second on the team with 56 goals, adding seven assists and 13 steals.

Moaddeli led CdM with 77 goals and had 48 assists and 44 steals, both of which also tied for the team lead.

Harbilas had 52 goals, third on the team. She also dished out 23 assists and tied with Moaddeli for the team lead with 44 steals.

CdM junior defender Sarah Lawson earned second-team all-league accolades.
