Gayl Ayres Trent was called home to be with our Lord Friday evening. She passed away peacefully with her daughter Teri, son-in-law Douglas, niece Kathy and her loyal canine companion “Charlie” by her side.

Gayl was born on June 15, 1928 to Marie and Clifford Hayden in Kalamazoo, MI. Gayl came to Los Angeles in 1955 and was employed by General Attorney at the Metropolitan Coach Lines, later LAMTA. In 1959 she began working for WR Real Estate and Design at IBM Wilshire.

Gayl met her husband, Raymond A. Trent in 1960 and they married in 1962. Gayl resided in La Canada in their home of fifty years and was active in La Canada School District activities, the Boy Scouts, the Verdugo Hills Tuesday Golf Club and since 1982, acted as a Volunteer at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale.

Cherished Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, friend and VHH Volunteer; Gayl was admired for her kindness, courage, humor and her quiet but deep faith. She was so loved and will be greatly missed; her beautiful and loving spirit will live on in her family and friends and the many lives she touched with her grace.

Heartfelt appreciation is extended by the family to her personal friend and physician for over thirty years, Dr. Eiming Djang, M.D.

Surviving Gayl, are her daughter, Teri Trent (Douglas) Bevan of Camarillo, CA, her son, Raymond (Shannah and grandsons, Kenneth and Christopher) Trent, Jr. of San Jose, CA, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life to honor Gayl will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at Descanso Gardens. Charitable donations in memory of Gayl can be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
