Crescenta Valley Briefs: CV Alliance to host adults-only discussion ‘Rehab and Relapse’

The CV Alliance will present “Rehab and Relapse” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 in the library at Crescenta Valley High School, 2900 Community Ave.

The talk, which is open to adults only, will be held by Benjamin Salazar, assistant professor and director of alcohol/drug studies at Glendale Community College.

The book club at La Crescenta Library will discuss Marcus Zusak’s best-selling novel “The Book Thief” from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

The story takes place in Nazi German in 1939 when “Death,” who is the narrator, takes time out of his ever busier schedule to focus on Liessel, a foster child who finds meaning in life through the theft of books.

Tuesday is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
