Gertrude C. Torre
Former longtime La Cañada resident Gertrude C. Torre died Sept. 8th at the age of 88.
She came to California from Salt Lake City, Utah when she was 6 months old and was raised in Silverlake, graduating from John Marshall High School in 1940. She met her husband, Robert A. Torre,
and they married in 1942. In 1951, she and her husband settled in La Cañada to raise their 6 children. Gertrude and Bob Torre were active
member in St. Bede’s Church and also boosters at St. Francis High School. She remained a resident until January 2011, when she moved to the Nohl Ranch Inn in Yorba Linda.
Gertrude is survived by her 6 children, Michael, Steven, Kathy, Tim, Dennis, Tony, her 12 grandchildren, and her 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday Sept. 16th at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills.
