Letter: The genocide must not be forgotten

Share

Why do we Armenians seek justice? You’ll be surprised to find your mind is capable of unveiling 100 years of truth.

More than a million martyrs perished a century ago. Our civilization drifted from history books and was no longer searched for in the ruinous cracks. We are no more in books, neither alive in ruins. But truth never dies, it lives among our survivors.

The Armenian Genocide was once witnessed, but now forgotten. The world must hear our truth. We want to tell our story, so you know who we are, read and write about us. The word “genocide” must be repeated — “1915, Never Again!”

On May 12 the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra’s “Concert of Remembrance” consisted of worldwide Armenian music ambassadors who performed Aram Khachaturian, Tigran Mansurian, and Dmitri Shostakovich at the Walt Disney Concert Hall to honor the sanctified Armenian Genocide martyrs. Mother Armenia’s melodies resonate to end Turkey’s occupancy over Wilsonian Armenia and to echo the sounds of justice.
