The morning after a reported shooting, a Burbank resident found an apparent bullet hole in her window

A Burbank resident noticed bullet holes in her windows Monday morning, hours after police received reports of gunfire in her neighborhood, police said.

Sunday night’s shooting, in which two homes were struck by gunfire, marked the fourth in Burbank this month.

Around 10:45 p.m., several people called police to report shots fired in the area of Brighton Street, Tulare Avenue, Glenoaks Boulevard and Myers Street, according to Burbank Police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

Officers who canvassed the area didn’t find any evidence of a shooting.

But the following morning, a resident of the 2500 block of North Myers Street noticed her windows had been shattered by bullet holes.

Her home, along with her neighbor’s, was struck by gunfire.

No one was injured, and police don’t know who was targeted in the shooting. No suspects have been identified.

Last Monday, a 22-year-old man was hospitalized after he was shot outside an apartment complex near McCambridge Park.

A 20-year-old man arrested in the case was released this week after prosecutors asked for further investigation, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office and jail records. He has not been charged in the shooting.

No injuries were reported in the two other shootings this month.

The evening of Aug. 17, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 1200 block of South Lake Street, about a block away from the Glendale border.

Witnesses had seen a man with a gun confront two other men walking north on Lake Street. They exchanged gang names and insults before the armed man fired a handgun toward the two others.

Roughly two weeks earlier, around the same time of day, witnesses reported seeing a man get out of the passenger side of a car parked on Lake Street near Verdugo Avenue before firing multiple shots from a handgun and getting back in the car.

Anyone with information on the shootings can call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
