Raksha Bandhan celebration

Pretend City Children's Museum, 29 Hubble, Irvine, will present a celebration honoring the Hindu religion's Raksha Bandhan occasion, marking the bond between brother and sister. The event, which is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature activities that focus on building bonds with families. Admission is $9.50 to $12.50. Sculpture exhibit

Newport Beach Public Library, 1000 Avocado Ave., will present the work of sculptor Judit Laufer, who has twice received awards at the Newport Beach Art Exhibition. Library hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Art exhibit

Newport Beach City Arts Commission will present the art of Fernando Del Rosario in the exhibit, "Real Heroes," at Newport Beach Public Library, 1000 Avocado Ave. The display will feature Del Rosario's artwork of comic book superheroes juxtaposed with inspirational quotes. The library is open from 9a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
