Missing Fountain Valley man found safe

A Fountain Valley man with dementia who went missing Tuesday afternoon was found safe Wednesday evening, police said.

Jerry White, 75, had last been seen at his home in the area of Edinger Avenue and Magnolia Street at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Fountain Valley police said. White had gone for a walk around the neighborhood, which he does regularly, police said.

Police found White outside a Fullerton home after receiving a tip from the homeowners, who recognized White from news reports, Sgt. Tony Luce said.

White had been missing for just over a day, Luce said.
