Former Newport home of car and hot dog moguls could be yours for $8.2 million

If you have a spare $8.2 million, you can buy the Spanish-style Newport Beach property that once was home to both the founder of Wienerschnitzel and a luxury-auto mogul.

The 8,206-square-foot house at 1 Troon Drive, built in 2002 in the One Ford Road community, has six bedrooms, five full bathrooms, a half-bath, a study, library, walk-in pantry, wine cellar, gym and dressing area featuring a walk-in closet. It also features beamed and cathedral ceilings, hardwood floors and custom furniture designed for each room. Outside are a swimming pool, a spa and a kitchen and bar.

Property records show that Fletcher “Ted” Jones Jr., who owns auto dealerships throughout the United States, bought the home for $6 million in 2006. He owns Fletcher Jones Motorcars in Newport Beach.

Records also show that John Galardi, founder of Irvine-based Wienerschnitzel, the “world’s largest hot dog chain,” leased the house with his wife, Judane. Galardi died in 2013.

Karen Santaniello of Engel & Volkers is the listing agent on the home.
