Man suspected of attempted murder during Newport Beach domestic dispute

A man arrested Sunday night on suspicion of attempted murder during a domestic dispute was booked into Orange County Jail with bail set at $500,000.

The suspect, whose name was not disclosed, was arrested in the 1900 block of Sherington Place a few minutes after 9 p.m. Authorities said he had a knife.

Police said a female suffered lacerations in the altercation, including defensive wounds on her arms. She received medical attention but her injuries were not considered life-threatening, according to police.

The cause of the dispute was undisclosed.

Authorities are continuing the investigation, police said.
