2 sought in break-in theft of 3-D printers at Costa Mesa warehouse

A Costa Mesa 3-D printer company reported this week that more than $60,000 worth of printers were stolen from its warehouse.

In a post Tuesday on its website, Airwolf 3D said two people, possibly a man and a woman, broke into its facility around 6 a.m. Sunday and stole 13 desktop printers.

Airwolf’s surveillance system captured a “champagne-colored” Ford Econoline van ramming into the receiving door at the company’s warehouse on McCormick Avenue and breaking it open. The thieves then took the products in less than three minutes, according to Airwolf. No employees were hurt during the break-in.

Airwolf said its security team is “using forensic software to try to analyze both the van’s license plate number and the identity of the suspects.”

The company – based at 130 McCormick, near John Wayne Airport – posted the serial numbers of 13 stolen Axiom printers on its website. It also posted an edited video of the burglary.
