Boys chorus finds new home in Santa Ana after losing Costa Mesa base

After being told it needed to leave its longtime home in Costa Mesa, the All-American Boys Chorus has found a new headquarters in Santa Ana.

The arts nonprofit is now based at 1801 E. Edinger Ave. in an office building near Century High School.

“It’s a five-year lease and will work out well for us,” chorus Executive Director Tony Manrique said in an email.

The chorus had been renting space at the OC Fair & Event Center for more than 40 years and was a fixture at Costa Mesa’s arts hub, the Segerstrom Center for the Arts.

But last fall, the fairgrounds administration informed the organization that it needed to find a new space because the chorus’s longtime digs off Arlington Drive were needed to accommodate more staff and fair programming. The group was given a June move-out date.

The All-American Boys Chorus was paying about $1,000 a month for about 5,000 square feet spread among three buildings, including a donated trailer situated between the Action Sports Arena and the equestrian center.

Manrique said the chorus began moving June 11.
