CdM completes undefeated league run in girls’ volleyball

Corona del Mar High completed its fifth undefeated Pacific Coast League girls’ volleyball campaign in six seasons with a 25-14, 23-25, 25-17, 25-8 victory over Woodbridge at home on Monday night.

Ashley Humphreys amassed 46 assists, and Kendall Kipp pounded out 20 kills to lead the Sea Kings (19-6, 10-0 in league). Christina Davenport had 13 kills, with Tia Grippo contributing 14 digs.

CdM was coming off a fourth-place showing in the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions over the weekend.

Woodbridge (17-10, 6-4) claimed third place and one of the league’s automatic berths into the CIF Southern Section playoffs.

A year ago, Woodbridge was the only team to beat CdM in league.
