City Briefs: All Glendale Unified high schools to share graduation date

GUSD high schools to hold graduations June 1

All of Glendale Unified’s high schools will hold their graduation ceremonies on the same day — June 1.

Daily High School students will graduate at 1:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 134 N. Kenwood St., Glendale.

Clark Magnet High School’s students will graduate at 5:30 p.m. in the school’s amphitheater, 4747 New York Ave., La Crescenta.

Crescenta Valley High School’s ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the school’s field, 2900 Community Ave., La Crescenta.

Glendale High School will hold its ceremony at 6 p.m. on Moyse Field, 1440 E. Broadway.

Hoover High School will celebrate its graduates at 6 p.m. on the school’s Ferguson Field, 651 Glenwood Road, Glendale.

Spring Salon slated to open Sunday

The Glendale Art Assn.’s 2016 Spring Salon will be held from Sunday through May 28 at Norik’s Art Gallery, 6635 San Fernando Road, Glendale.

There will be an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday with music and refreshments, with an awards presentation to be held at 5 p.m.

Proceeds will be contributed as scholarships to Glendale visual-arts students who are completing high school and pursuing additional education in the arts.

GYA to hold golf tournament

The Glendale Youth Alliance Charity Golf Tournament will be held on Monday at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club, 5500 Godbey Drive, La Cañada Flintridge.

Registration will begin at 9 a.m., with a putting contest at 10 a.m. The scramble tournament will start at 11 a.m. with cocktails at 4 p.m., followed by dinner, awards and a silent auction at 5 p.m.
