The Glendale Historical Society, in conjunction with Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks, will present a guided tour highlighting the early history of the Tropico area of Glendale and Forest Lawn-Glendale from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Forest Lawn-Glendale, 1712 S. Glendale Ave., Glendale.

First, attendees will be transported by motor coach to the Glendale Southern Pacific Railway Depot, which was built in 1923 in the Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival styles.

Along the way, the tour guide will discuss the early history of Tropico and how it became part of Glendale.

After returning to Forest Lawn, attendees will tour the oldest sections of the cemetery, where early local dignitaries are buried. A reception will follow.

Cost is $35 per person. For more information, visit www.glendalehistorical.org/tropico-tour.
