Briefly in the News: MOMS Club meeting set for Wednesday

The MOMS Club of Glendale will hold its next monthly social at 4 p.m. Wednesday. All interested mothers should email glendaleMOMS@gmail.com for location and other details.

Group members will discuss their upcoming holiday plans and their activity groups, which include an open house Halloween party, pumpkin patch outing, park play days, monthly brunches and MOMS Night Out events.

They will also plan fundraising activities as well as their current service project: collecting candy for military troops via Operation Gratitude.

There will be door prizes for the first three mothers who join the chapter during the event. Membership is open to moms residing in Glendale.

All mothers and their children are welcome to attend the club’s monthly socials and general meetings.

Crescenta Valley to present ‘Anne Frank’ play

Crescenta Valley High School’s Falcon Players will present the play “The Diary of Anne Frank” at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday in the MacDonald Auditorium at the school, 4400 Ramsdell Ave., La Crescenta.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students.

Studio tour set for next weekend

The Glendale Open Studio Tour, a free two-day self-guided event which will highlight several creative hubs in Glendale, will be held next weekend.

Stops will include commercial and residential studios, as well as public art throughout the city, including 14 utility boxes that are part of the Glendale Arts & Culture Commission’s program “Beyond the Box — Utility Box Murals.”

More than a dozen artists will also display their work in an open air art market in the main courtyard at Pacific Park Library. Visitors can also tour the grounds of the Brand Library & Art Center, 1601 W. Mountain St. and see the current exhibit there titled “Brand 44: The 44th Brand Annual National Juried Exhibition.”

Additional stops along the tour will include the Museum of Neon Art, Creative Lounge, GEO Gallery, Tufenkian Fine Arts, Armenian Arts, Roslin Art Gallery and the Hummingbird Conservatory for the Arts.

Tour maps will be provided by event producers — 11:11 A Creative Collective, 5019 Klump Ave, # 4, North Hollywood, and Pacific Park Library, 501 S. Pacific Ave. — between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 15 and 16.
