News-Press Pet of the Day: Shelly

Share

Shelly is a sweet, 1-year-old, black and white, spayed, female short-haired cat. This affectionate gal first arrived at the Pasadena Humane Society at the end of March and soon gave birth to kittens.

She raised her kittens in a foster home and has since returned to the shelter for adoption. Her foster mom reports that Shelly is a bit shy with new people, but once she gets to know you, she head bumps, rubs, purrs and “makes biscuits” (kneads) when she is happy.

Shelly is currently available for adoption at Pet Food Express in Pasadena.

The adoption fee for cats is $70 (or two for $85), which includes the spay or neuter surgery, microchip and vaccinations.

Adopt Shelly and all other available pets for just $20 on Saturday during the “Clear the Shelters” adoption event. Regular adoption screening applies.

New adopters will receive a complimentary health-and-wellness exam from VCA Animal Hospitals, as well as a goody bag filled with information about how to care for a pet.

Call the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA at (626) 792-7151 to ask about A394603 or visit at 361 S. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Pets may not be available for adoption and cannot be held for potential adopters by phone calls or emails. Directions and photos of all pets can be found at pasadenahumane.org.
