Parents weary of standing in long lines with their children to see Santa Claus can reserve a time to get a picture taken with the Jolly Old Elf at the Glendale Galleria.

Through Christmas Eve, reservations can be made online from the “My Time with Santa” feature on the Galleria’s website, glendalegalleria.com. Pre-planners can then enter a date and time.

Upon entering the winterland display decorated with a giant Christmas tree, families can take a group picture before little ones climb onto Santa’s lap.

The Gleason family of Burbank made a reservation two nights ago to get one-on-one time between Kris Kringle and their 3-year-old daughter, Rylee, and newborn, Paige.

The family was in and out in minutes.

“It was easy as opposed to having to have 40 minutes or an hour,” said father Craig Gleason. “It must also make it a little easier for Santa, too, because [the kids] aren’t crying by the time they get to his lap.”

People who make online reservations also get a discount on their photos with Santa, but purchase of an online photo package is required to make an appointment.

Walk-ups are welcome as well.
