A Glendale man was arrested on Monday after he allegedly robbed the same bank in Burbank twice, police said.

Police arrested 20-year-old Patrick Vertani for reportedly robbing the Chase Bank located at 840 N. San Fernando Blvd. on June 25 and again this past Monday, according to Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco.

In the first incident, Vertani approached a teller with a note demanding money. Then, at around 12:40 p.m. on Monday, he robbed the same bank using a similar note, Losacco said.

Using descriptions of the suspect, surveillance footage, witness statements and other details in both incidents, Burbank police detectives identified Vertani as a person of interest and began surveillance of his home in the 1100 block of Spazier Avenue later that day.

At around 5:30 p.m., Vertani and another man were detained without incident after leaving Vertani’s home. After serving search warrants, evidence linking Vertani to the robberies, such as clothing he wore and most of the money taken during the robberies, was found in his vehicle and home, Losacco said.

Vertani was arrested on two counts of bank robbery and booked into Burbank City Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail. He has since posted bond.

Vertani’s companion was interviewed and released, according to Losacco.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office has filed two counts of robbery against Vertani. He is due in court for arraignment in late August.
